Steering CommitteeThe Steering Committee consists of elected officers, standing committee heads, teachers, the PTA Liason, and the principal of the program's host school. This group represents the Optional Program to the general membership (that's the parents), the administration, the school board, Eagle River PTA and the community. They meet monthly to discuss policy, scheduling and future projects. All members are welcome to these monthly meetings.
There are a minimum of two General Membership meetings each year, one in the fall and one in the spring. The fall meeting generally centers around welcoming new families and an introduction to the culture of the community. Enrichment activities are discussed, questions answered, and there are opportunities to sign up for volunteering. The spring meeting entails voting for new leadership, answering budget questions, feedback on the past year, and discussion into the coming year's activities. These meetings are one of the ways you can let your voice be heard in the program, advocate for your child's education and be a part of our community. |
